Icy roads keep the 67 crews busy

At approximately 3:00PM Co 67 was dispatched for multiple car crashes on Interstate 84 around the 16 mile marker.  Upon the initial drive to the scene nothing was found on the West bound side of the interstate all of the crashes were found on the east bound side.  67 Chief Marconi was in command of the scene.  The initial incident there was a total of 3 cars in separate crashes between 16 mile marker and the 16.5 mile marker.  1 vehicle was rolled over 3 patients were self extricated and transported by 67 EMS, the 2nd vehicle was crashed into the rock cut with 1 patient that was transported by 29 EMS, and the 3rd vehicle the 2 patients refused treatment and transportation.  Upon initial dispatch 67 chief had 29 Rescue and EMS placed on stand by due to all of the different calls received by Wayne County 911.  While operating on this incident vehicles were stopping and reporting other crashes on the Interstate.  Rescue 29 and EMS 29 assisted with a report of a crash on Interstate 84 West around the 12.8 Mile Marker, we had another crash on route 191 around Ledgedale Road that Co. 1 Lake Ariel Fire and DNA EMS assisted us on, and another crash on 191 above Twin Rocks that our 67-2 EMS and our Squad 67 under the direction of Captain Delorenzo handled .  Thank you to all of the companies that assisted us with our multiple calls.  Also thank you to the Wayne County 911 Dispatchers for all their help as well.
